Day 1
Foz do Iguaçu - State of Paraná

Iguaçu Falls - The Brazilian Side

The spectacular Iguaçu Falls that straddle the Argentine-Brazil border are made up of 275 individual waterfalls lining a 1.7 mile (2.7 km) wide horseshoe-shaped gorge. The falls are located where the Iguaçu River cascades over the edge of the Paraná Plateau. They can be viewed from both the Argentinian and the Brazilian sides, the Brazilian side offering a broader, more panoramic view.

From the Brazilian side, you will get a breathtaking view of the falls at every turn.  The uninterrupted vistas of the Floriana Falls, the Devil’s Gorge Canyon and the Iguaçu River are spectacular and guaranteed to impress.

Activity: The Brazilian Falls

This tour starts in the welcome center in the Iguaçu National Park. Panels explain the falls and emit the sound of various types of birds in the area.

Soon after, you move into the park, where the you can contemplate the fauna and flora native to this area. The sound of the falls will emerge as you get closer. With its  gigantic cascades and rainbows, every corner of the falls is a potential postcard.

Day 2
Foz do Iguaçu - State of Paraná

Iguaçu - The Argentinian Side

Cross over the border for a full day excursion to the Argentinian side of the mighty Iguaçu Falls. This side offers a series of catwalks that allow you to experience the falls from a very close range.  A visit to Devil’s Gorge, arguably the most spectacular falls, is one of the day’s highlights.  There is also the option to do a boat trip right up to the falls – be prepared to get wet!

Activity: The Argentinian Falls

On this side of the falls, you explore from a privileged position much closer to the hundreds of falls. From the welcome center you get a map of the area and are transported via trains. There are several  stops along the train, the first is Cataratas Station. From there you can visit the superior circuit above the falls or the lower circuit, which is below the falls.

Each circuit has its own individuality, and one brings you to Devil's Throat otherwise known as the colossal Garganta del Diablo. After crossing a path amid blue jays and beautiful butterflies, you face  the full view of the river and the magnitude of the gigantic falls. Be sure to look out for rainbows!

The Argentinian side can be performed on a full day mode (3 circuits, 6 hours) or half day (no lower circuit, 4 hours).

The Amazon's Riverways

Today you'll enjoy breakfast and embark on a full day tour to the “Meeting of the Waters”, a remarkable phenomenon where the black water of the Rio Negro converges with the lighter muddy brown water of the Rio Solimões before they finally merge to form the mighty Amazon River. The two rivers are different temperatures and run at different speeds alongside each other without mixing for several miles, in what makes for an incredible phenomenon. Day 6

Fishing in the Amazon

After breakfast you will embark on a fishing activity. Depending on the season, you may catch the elusive piranha that nibbles your bait without a tug on the line. After lunch you will either enjoy walking around the jungle or use this time to rest. After dinner, you'll depart the lodge on paddle or motor canoes to listen to the sounds of the jungle at night, with the possibility to spot alligators or other creatures. Alligators are easily spotted with a flashlight– two shining red lights among the foliage. Once the guide spots an alligator they will try to catch a small one with their bare hands, bringing the animal on board for a brief explanation of the habitat of this primeval animal and its hunting methods. After a brief stay onboard and many photos, the alligator is safely released to its habitat. Animals are handled with care and guides cause no harm.
